Engineering designer/drafter/technician
Requirements:

High School Diploma

College level pre-engineering and/or engineering courses

Proficient in Civil 3D, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

GIS experience

Design independently with minimal direction
Use Civil3D to create 3D models of existing and design finish grade surfaces for new or existing sites, stormwater and sanitary sewer pipe networks and roadway corridors. Create rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and sites, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data. Draw maps, diagrams and profiles, using cross-sections and surveys, to represent elevations, topographical contours and structures. Create detailed drawing for structures, installations and construction projects such as highways, sewage disposal systems and detention ponds, working from sketches or notes. Finish and duplicate drawing and construction document packages, according to required mediums and specifications for production using paper or electronic media. Review rough sketches, drawing, specifications and other engineering data received from civil engineers to ensure they conform to design concepts. Correlate, interpret and modify data obtained from topographical surveys and geophysical prospecting reports.
Surveying Field Personnel

Crew Chief is responsible for on-site client relations, adjacent property owner relations and intra-crew personnel relations. Training of crew members. Maintenance and appearance of vehicle. Coordination and communication with office, plans and reference information for days’ work, type of equipment and type of supplies for days’ work. Getting to job site. Keeping field notes with emphasis on accuracy, clarity, completeness and legibility of field stakes. Finding and identifying survey monuments and control points. Understanding of construction records. Recording the type and amount of beyond contract work (extras) and obtaining authorization for beyond contract work (extras). Quality of instrument and rod persons’ work, in field communication and coordination with construction company personnel. Compliance with Federal and State safety laws and regulations, compliance with company, construction site and client safety standards, rules and regulations and safe of crew members. Recording performance of crew members.
Survey Crew Chief
2-4 years experience, good math skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work outdoors, basic computer skills, Civil 3D, experience with a variety of survey equipment. Responsibilities include client relations, training of crew members, coordination with office staff, supervision of crew members, keeping accurate field notes and legibility of field stakes, finding and identifying survey monuments and control points, infield communication with construction company personnel, compliance with Federal and State safety laws.
Instrument Person
1-2 years survey experience preferred, but open, good math and technical skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to work outdoors, basic computer skills, some Civil 3D experience preferred, but open, some experience with a variety of survey equipment preferred, but open. Responsibilities include carrying out instructions and tasks assigned by the Crew Chief, assisting with completion of all surveys and construction staking, recording accurate and clear survey notes, accurately recording data points with a data collector, assisting in the maintenance of the work vehicle, finding and identifying survey monuments and control points.
